As I looked through your blog, for some reason I kept coming back to this image. It makes me smile! Maybe because the critter appears to be laughing at me! This photograph could be placed in the aesthetically evaluative category, even though the treatment of the subject matter is not in the tradition of this category. Camera angle, cropping and simplicity of the composition are the strengths of this photograph. The exaggerated lips, nostril and eye create the comic feeling of a caricature. This is in contrast to the feeling of strength and nobility that results from the blue and grey colors, the decision to shoot in portrait mode and the fact that the strong, muscular horse is looking down on the viewer. This is most likely a “serious” statue but your sense of humor saw something more!
